KPCC flays Mohanan’s elevation

January 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:20 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The KPCC has criticised the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] for inducting K. Mohanan as the Kozhikode district secretary of the party.

Addressing a press conference here after a meeting of the KPCC executive committee meeting on Saturday, KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran said the decision indicated that the CPI(M) leadership was unwilling to correct its mistakes and give up political violence.

The induction of Mohanan, an accused in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case, was a matter of concern for peace loving people. “The appointment clearly sends the message that the CPI(M) is not ready to give up political violence,” he said.
