Kottakkal Pooram begins today

The annual festival of Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala’s Viswambhara Temple will begin on Sunday. The week-long festival, popularly known as Kottakkal Pooram, will bring in people of all faiths to the courtyards of Arya Vaidya Sala.

The Viswambhara Temple allows entry on its premises to people of all faiths. The festival by and large symbolises communal harmony of the region.

There will be cultural programmes on all days and fireworks on the first of the festival. Artistes of eminence from across the State will perform on the courtyard of the Kailasamandiram, the Arya Vaidya Sala headquarters, on all evenings.

Vadasseri Brothers T.V. Sethumadhavan and T.V. Sivadasan will present a Nadaswara concert on Sunday evening.

Thriprangode Parameswara Marar and Mattannur Sankarankutty Marar will lead a Thayambaka on Sunday night.

On Monday evening, Gopika Varma will present a Mohiniyattom recital. There will be Kathakali performance by PSV Natya Sangham and several eminent artistes from Monday to Friday.
