The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) rebel candidate in Vengara has enhanced his threat by challenging the party’s official candidate for the Assembly byelection.

Karukamannil Hamza, a lawyer and former president of the Motor Thozhilali Union (STU), has threatened to reveal the dark story behind the candidature of IUML’s K.N.A. Khader if the party did not withdraw him.

Mr. Hamza is contesting in the October-11 Vengara Assembly byelection in protest against Mr. Khader’s candidature.

He said he would wait until September 27, the last day to withdraw the nominations.
