Mani concealing facts: Hassan

April 30, 2017 08:26 pm | Updated 08:26 pm IST - Thiruvananthapuram

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee interim president M.M. Hassan has said that the CPI(M) has the dubious record of expelling party leaders for misbehaving with women and that Electricity Minister M.M. Mani is conveniently concealing this fact.

Mr. Mani on Sunday kicked off another row by accusing several Congress leaders of being involved in sex scandals, as a result of which the party leaders did not have the moral rectitude to lead a campaign against him on charges of making derogatory references against women.

Mr. Mani’s statement led to sharp reaction by Mr. Hassan who, while addressing a party function, said he suspected a conspiracy behind the protection Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was giving to Mr. Mani.

It was only the other day that the CPI(M) State committee publicly censured Mr. Mani for his brash statements that fetched ill repute to the party.
