Over a lakh candidates appeared for the Kerala Engineering/Pharmacy Entrance Examination 2017 that got under way at 311 centres in the country and abroad on Monday.
Of the 1,12,129 candidates who had applied, 1,00,350 appeared for engineering paper I (Physics and Chemistry). The engineering paper II (Mathematics) examination will be conducted on Tuesday.
Pharmacy course
Candidates seeking admission to B.Pharm and Pharm D. courses were required to appear for the engineering paper I.
The number of candidates who applied for the entrance examination for pharmacy programmes was 5,865, according to information released by the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE).
The CEE had on Sunday said that there would not be any change in the schedule of the exams or any re-examination.
Besides in the 14 districts of Kerala, examination centres are also there in New Delhi (2), Mumbai, and Dubai (one each). Around 7,000 personnel, including government and aided school staff, and officials of the Education Department, are deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination, according to official sources.
