Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi announces Kalashri awards

The Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi has announced the Kalashri Awards 2013 for artistes who have excelled in various fields.

Akademi chairman Soorya Krishnamoorthy announced the awards at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.

Winners

The following are the award winners: Sreevalsan J. Menon and Sankaran Namboothiri (Carnatic vocal), Kuzahalmandam G. Ramakrishnan (Mridangam), Adichanelloor Anilkumar (Ghatam), R.K. Damodaran and Vaikkom Vijayalakshmi (light music), Ramesh Varma (drama direction), Leelamma Mathew (drama broadcast), Rajan Kizakkanela (drama script), Vijayalakshmi (Mohiniyattom), Rema Vaidyanathan (Bharatha Natyam), Vinod Champakkara (Kathaprasangom), Kalamandalam Vasudevan (Ottanthullal), Mani Vasudeva Chakkiyar (Koothu), Vakkom Sajiv and Madhu Gopinath shared award for Samudranadanam, Britto Vincent (Chavittu Natakam) and Kallekulangara Achuthankutty Marar (Thayambaka).

M.C.Kattapana, thespian, has been selected for the C.I. Parameswaran Pillai Memorial Endowment and K.K. Ramachandra Pulavar, puppetry artiste, for the T.P. Sukumaran Memorial Endowment.

The awards comprise a citation, memento and a purse. Vice-chairman T.M. Abraham and secretary P.V. Krishnan Nair were present at press meet.
