The Kerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to introduce a ban on trawling on the coastal seas of the State from June 16 to July 31.

The seasonal ban is being introduced every year to conserve fish resources; the monsoon being the breeding season of many fishes.

The Cabinet also decided to give titles to eligible persons who are in possession of 70 acres of government puramboke land in Kuttampuzha village of Kothamangalam taluk in Ernakulam district.
