Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president V. Muraleedharan said here on Thursday that the Union Budget had ignored Kerala, as in the case of the Railway Budget.
Expressing his disappointment in a statement, the BJP leader said Kerala had not only failed to get an Indian Institute of Technology, but faced neglect with regard to the Vizhinjam project as well. At the same time, a port with a investment of Rs.7,500 crore was coming up at Tuticorin. This would hit the proposed Vizhinjam port.
Mr. Muraleedharan said no new project had been announced for Kerala in the budget. The allocations for its ongoing projects were meagre. The budget had no proposal to take the country out of the present economic slump, he added.

This is nothing new. Everything is only on paper as far as kerala is concerned. PMs commitment etc...is all meaning less and a total eye wash. Never before have this state of kerala nor is people have been taken for a ride like the way it is happening presently. We people of kerala need to elect strong people and we should blame ourselves for this....we need strong backbone...otherwise we will live like this with protests and multiple visits to Delhi and end of the story.....
