A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Thursday directed the State government to make all roads to Sabarimala motorable before the Mandalam-Makaravilakku festival season.

The Bench comprising Justice T.R. Ramchandran Nair and Justice P.V. Asha issued the order on a report filed by the PWD regarding the progress of the repair works on the roads to Sabarimala.

The court asked the Chief Engineer (Road) to personally supervise all repair works.

In its report, the PWD pointed out the government had taken steps to repair as many as 17 roads leading to Sabarimala. In fact, more than 90 per cent of the maintenance and repair works had been completed.

The remaining work would be completed before the commencement of the festival season.
