Kathaprasanga mela from today

This year’s annual festival of the Mayyanad Sastha temple will comprise a nine-day Kathaprasanga mela from April 2. Temple committee president L. Reghunath said that the programme was being organised with the aim of promoting Kathaprasangam and making it attractive to the younger generation.

Kathaprasangams will be staged by Ayilam Unnikrishnan, Seena Pallikara, Varkala Radhakrishnan, Vasanthakumar Sambasivan, V. Harsha Kumar, Chirkara Salim Kumar, Edakochi Salim Kumar, Pulimarathu Sreekumar, and Niranam Rajan. There will be Annadanam on all days of the festival. The Pongala ritual will be held at 7 a.m. on April 5 and the Chamayavilakku ritual at 6 p.m. on April 10. The festival will conclude on April 11.
