The Janadhipathya Samrakshana Samithi (JSS) is unlikely to go it alone in the Assembly polls.

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan is likely to meet Ms. Gouri at her residence here on Sunday. The meeting is expected to clinch a deal and a final statement on the JSS support to the LDF is likely to follow.

The announcement by the founder leader K.R. Gouri a week ago that the party would contest six seats all alone has been reviewed at various levels of the party. There is a strong opinion against the leader’s stand. The party, in all likelihood, will continue its alliance with the Left Democratic Front, according to indications from party forums.

Ms. Gouri’s announcement that her party would contest six seats in the State came soon after the list of LDF candidates for the Assembly elections was published. Her party had sought three seats, but the LDF gave none. Later, LDF representatives including CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan met the JSS leader to assuage her feelings. CPI(M) leader T.M. Thomas Isaac met the JSS leader a few days ago. The compound walls of her house were soon seen plastered with elections posters of Dr. Isaac.
