Janaraksha Yatra concludes today

The Janaraksha Yatra being taken out by Bharatiya Janata Party State president Kummanam Rajasekharan from Payyannur will conclude with a rally here on Tuesday.

The yatra began from Payyannur on October 3 to highlight the ‘CPI(M) violence and jihadi terror’ in the State. BJP president Amit Shah, who was part of the yatra in the initial phase, would rejoin it at Pattom and will travel up to Palayam in an open jeep. From Palayam he will walk along with the party workers up to Putharikandam Maidan, where a public meeting is being held.

The yatra’s tour on the concluding day will begin with visits to the houses of martyrs. The leaders will visit the residences of Manannthala Renjith and Sreekariyam Rajesh at 10 a.m. Union Minister of State for Ports Pon Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the ‘padayatra’ from Sreekariyam at 10.30 a.m.

After the lunch break at Pattom, the yatra will be resumed at 2 p.m. Union Minister of State for Health Aswini Kumar Choubey will address the workers at Pattom.

Mr. Shah, Bharath Dharma Jana Sena president Thushar Vellappally, Janadhipathya Rashtriya Sabha leader C.K. Janu and Mr. Choubey will address the public meeting, a party release said here on Monday.
