Jameel has no links with IM operatives: NIA

Preliminary investigations have found that Bihar resident Jameel Suffikal who was taken into custody by the Kerala Police from a cottage in Munnar on Friday has no direct link with Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives Zia-ur-Rehman (Waqas) and Tehseen Akhtar.

He was taken into custody by the police on Friday on charges of facilitating their stay in Munnar.

Officials of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have questioned him for six hours and ‘found no direct evidences to prove his link with the IM operatives.’

However, he will be released only after a report by the Anti-Terrorism Squad.
