A panel of doctors assigned to take care of actor Jagathy Sreekumar at the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) has decided to shift him to Christian Medical College, Vellore, for neuro-rehabilitation treatment.

A medical bulletin issued by the hospital authorities here on Friday said the actor, who is undergoing treatment following a road accident, would be shifted to CMC, Vellore, next week.

The bulletin said the level of Mr. Sreekumar's consciousness had witnessed satisfactory improvement. “He has started recognising his close relatives, besides responding to verbal commands,” the bulletin said.
