IUML adopting soft line on RSS: CPI(M)

August 22, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:41 am IST - KASARAGOD:

A recent speech made by Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader K.M. Shaji, MLA, here making light of the “serious threats” posed by the Sangh Parivar outfits is a ploy to conceal the realities, Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] party district secretary K.P. Satheesh Chandran has said.

Mr. Shaji, while addressing a district conference of the Muslim Youth League here on Friday, had said that the CPI(M) was more ferocious than the RSS when targeting its political enemies.

Mr. Chandran said that the remarks of the MLA was testimony to the tacit tie-up the IUML had with the RSS-BJP leadership in the elections held recently in the State.

In fact, the IUML owed an explanation to its sympathisers on whether the soft line adopted towards the Sangh Parivar outfit was the official stand of the party leadership, he said.

Mr. Shaji had accused the CPI(M) of committing politics of murder in the State ever since it assumed power barely three months ago.
