The Parliament elections will reflect the people’s will to establish a secular, democratic government at the Centre, support for the United Democratic Front government’s slogan of development with care and it would also be a judgment against the politics of violence practised by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons after casting his vote, the Chief Minister said the people were coming out in good numbers to exercise their franchise and it was a welcome sign.
Expressing his confidence that the UDF would win the elections hands down, Mr. Chandy said the UDF could put forth one of the best efforts in this election: “Right from seat-sharing to selection of candidates, the UDF and the Congress took the lead against the Opposition,” he said. It also presented a team of candidates acceptable to the people. The victory would be the result of team spirit, he said.
