Involve Central agency in murder probe: BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national executive committee member P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has demanded the State government to seek the support of a Central agency to probe into the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T.P. Chandrasekharan.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Mr. Pillai said the inquiry should expose the role of Communist Party of India (Marxist) leaders in the gruesome murder. He alleged that there were covert attempts on the part of both the United Democratic Front (UDF) leadership and the CPI(M) to amicably settle the issue and save the leaders involved in the conspiracy behind the murder.

Mr. Pillai claimed that the murder was executed with the clear consent of top CPI(M) leaders in the State. “The party leadership agreed to cooperate with the inquiry only after holding a private discussion with the Home Minister,” he accused.
