Verses from across the world to drench city

The Kritya International Poetry Festival will be organised in the city from February 18 to 20.

Renowned poets from various countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Romania, Ireland, Italy, Estonia and Turkey, will attend the programme.

According to the organisers, Cultural Affairs Minister K.C. Joseph will inaugurate the event at Mahakavi Kumaran Asan Smarakam at Thonnakkal on February 18. The International Poets’ Meet will be held later at the venue with poets from across the world presenting poems in their respective languages.

The Malayalam translations of the poems will be rendered on stage.

The poets’ meet will continue at the Alliance Francaise de Trivandrum on the second day of the festival. A poetry reading session will also be held at the Government Women’s College on the same day.

Curtain will come down on the festival on February 20 with programmes including Whisper Poetry, Meet the Poet, poetry readings, and folk art performances that will be held at the Vyloppilly Samskrithi Bhavan.
