The Kudumbasree State Mission is joining hands with the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) to launch innovative projects in the animal husbandry sector.

B. Ashok, Vice Chancellor of KVASU, and K.B. Valsalakumari, executive director, State Kudumbasree Mission, had held a preliminary discussion recently in this regard. Dr. Ashok had offered all support from KVASU to the dairy and animal husbandry-related projects of Kudumbasree, P.P. Muhammad, district coordinator, Kudumbasree Mission, told The Hindu .

As part of it, Kudumbasree and KVASU would jointly organise a State-level workshop on the KVASU campus on April 28 and it would draft various projects to be executed in the current fiscal, he added. All the faculty members of the KVASU and district coordinators and assistant coordinators of Kudumbasree would attend the workshop, he said.

Kudumbasree had already been implementing various projects in animal husbandry sector such as Aadugramam, Ksheerasagaram, and Kozhikkoottom, he said.

It was expected that the new venture would help boost the dairy and animal husbandry sector by applying modern inventions and technologies at grass-roots level, he said.
