The Indian National League (INL) will demand the Left Democratic Front (LDF) to allot five seats for the party in the upcoming assembly elections in Kerala. National and State leaders of INL told presspersons here on Thursday that they would demand one seat each in Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Kollam districts.

INL State president S.A. Puthiyavalappil and State general secretary Abdul Wahab said that a final seat sharing discussion with the LDF would be held in Thiruvananthapuram on March 13. Before that, the INL will hold a State executive meet in Kozhikode on March 12 to finalise the party’s election strategies, they said.

INL national secretary Ahamed Devarkoil exuded confidence that the LDF would consider their long pending demand to consider INL as one of their allies in the forthcoming assembly elections. He said the INL, after attending the formal seat sharing discussions with the LDF, would hold a national executive meet in Chennai on March 14.
