Infant Teresa laid to rest

Infant Teresa, eldest sister of Defence Minister A.K. Antony, was laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Church at Kunnupuram, near Cherthala, on Monday afternoon.

Mr. Antony reached Pattanakad in the morning to attend the funeral. Earlier, he had reached the Cochin International Airport from Beijing, where he was on an official visit. Sr. Teresa died in a private hospital in Kochi on Thursday night. The body was brought to Franciscan Clarist Convent at Pattanakad by Sunday evening.

The body was kept at the convent till Monday noon for people to pay last respects. Later, it was shifted to the Kunnupuram church.

Cardinal Mar George Alencherry and Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath led the funeral ceremony. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation K.C. Venugopal and Fisheries Minister K. Babu were present.
