Industrialist held on charge of murder bid

The police on Thursday arrested an industrialist who allegedly tried to kill a security guard of his apartment complex by hitting him with his luxury vehicle, for not opening the gate for him on time. The police arrested Mohammed Nissam, 38, owner of Kings Group of Companies. ADGP Shankar Reddy asked the police to take a case under KAAPA (Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act against him.

Chandrabose, 47, of Kandasankadavu, the guard, who was critically injured, is hospitalised. He suffered severe abdominal injuries. His ribs are broken. He is on ventilator support.

Nissam, who was drunk, is alleged to have hit the guard, who tried to run away, with his jeep.

He dragged the injured guard into his vehicle and assaulted him again. The other security guards, who tried to stop the attack, also suffered injuries.
