Indefinite postal strike from May 6

May 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:58 am IST - KOLLAM:

Postal employees under the banner of an action council will launch an indefinite strike on May 6.

The strike is to counter moves by the Union government to privatise the postal sector.

A solution to the long-standing demands of the employees will be highlighted through the strike.

Action council conveners of the Kollam postal division R.V. Sreekant and S. Biju said that under the label of the Postal Task Force Report, the Union government was making moves to divide the Postal Department into companies and then privatise those companies.
