In Kerala, tender coconut water to be official drink

Tender coconut water is to be the official drink of Kerala.

Announcing this while presenting the annual budget for 2012-13 in the State Assembly on Monday, Finance Minister K.M. Mani said that the government also proposes to implement an integrated coconut development project with assistance from the Coconut Development Board.

The Finance Minister said that the government also proposed to promote and encourage production of value-added products from coconut and tender coconut.
