Water level in the Idukki dam showed a fall of 0.16 ft on Tuesday, recording at 2.401.48 ft.

Though the catchment area of the reservoir was free of rainfall during the 24 hours ending Tuesday morning, there was good inflow to the reservoir through the Periyar. Power generation continued at the maximum level of over 18 million units at the Moolamattom power house.

The district administration had on Monday recommended controlled release of water from the Cheruthoni dam in anticipation of good rainfall in the coming days. The full reservoir level of the dam is 2,403 ft.
