November 04, 2009 05:53 pm | Updated 05:53 pm IST - KATTAPPANA:

Preliminary work for the complete electrification project of Idukki constituency aimed at providing electricity to nearly 600 houses has begun. As part of the project, all grama panchayats in the constituency should prepare the data on the number of houses in each ward where electric supply has not been provided and the area where line connection over 135 metres is required.

The Kerala State Electricity Board will prepare the cost estimate on the basis of the details of the beneficiaries under the project. A meeting of the officials of forest, revenue, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe and the peoples’ representatives will be held at the Collectorate at Painau on November 20 to finalise the list. This was decided recently at a meeting of the officials and peoples representatives held at HRD hall, Vazhathoppe.
