Muslims across the State will celebrate Idul Fitr on Monday after completing 30 days of Ramzan fasting.

Major Kazis confirmed Idul Fitr to be on Monday as none in the State sighted the Shawwal new moon on Saturday evening.

Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal of Panakkad, Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary Alikutty Musliar, All India Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar, and Madin chairman Sayed Ibrahim Khaleel Bukhari were among those who confirmed the Idul Fitr after waiting a little over half-an-hour after the sunset.

Id Gahs are unlikely to be held at many places because of rain. Id prayers will take place in mosques between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Monday.
