Hydrofoil boats in Kerala soon

After launching the seaplane project, the State government is now looking at hydrofoil boats to improve connectivity between coastal tourist destinations within the State.

On Tuesday, the government accorded administrative sanction for a proposal to introduce hydrofoil boats for passenger traffic under the coastal shipping project. Minister for Fisheries and Ports K. Babu said Rs.50 lakh had been sanctioned for the hydrofoil passenger service on the Fort Kochi-Alappuzha route.
