HC directive not to arrest LDF candidate

The Kerala High Court, on Tuesday, directed the Crime Branch of the Kerala Police not to arrest Bennet Abraham, LDF candidate in the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency, in connection with a misappropriation of fund case for three months.

Justice K. Ramakrishnan passed the order while admitting a petition by Dr. Abraham seeking to quash all proceedings.The court, however, made it clear that the investigation officer was at liberty to proceed with the probe. The court also directed Dr. Abraham to cooperate with investigation.

Dr. Abraham has been arraigned as the third accused in the case. The case was registered on August 9, 2012.
