Grant for snakeboats soon

The State government would soon distribute a grant of ₹1 lakh each for the maintenance of 20 snakeboats that participate in boat races.

The decision to immediately distribute a total grant of ₹5 crore was made at a meeting of Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac and Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran here on Tuesday.

Nine boats that had not got a one-time maintenance grant would get ₹9 lakh each.

The boats, Alappatt, Vadakke Attupuram, St.Joseph, and Sree Karthikeyan would get ₹ 50,000 each.

Fourteen others in A category would get ₹50,000 each, and 37 in B category ₹30,000 each.

Grant for Seva Sangham

Fifty-two Palliyodams would get ₹25,000 each and its seva sanghams ₹10 lakh as grant.

The remaining amount of the grant would be distributed against applications for grant.
