Ganesh calls on Pillai

March 08, 2013 09:18 am | Updated November 16, 2021 10:18 pm IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

Forest Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar called on his father and Kerala Congress(B) chairman R. Balakrishna Pillai on Thursday.

The meeting took place late in the evening on the initiative of Labour Minister Shibu Baby John, who had earlier called on Mr. Pillai and held a 45-minute discussion to persuade him to meet Mr. Ganesh Kumar. The stage was set for the father-son meeting following this. The meeting lasted for 20 minutes.

The meeting was set up apparently as part of a strategy to get Mr. Pillai to climb down on his demand for dropping Mr. Ganesh Kumar from the Cabinet as his party’s nominee, now that Mr. Pillai got hold of the political strings following the UDF’s decision earlier in the day. Mr. Ganesh Kumar had also called on Nair Service Society general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair late Wednesday night.
