The Edakkal caves and the wealth of cultural traditions of the tribal communities in Wayanad will be showcased before the world, with Finance Minister K.M. Mani announcing special projects to preserve these in the State budget.
A sum of Rs.80 lakh has been earmarked for a ‘heritage museum' at Mananthavady in Wayanad to preserve the art forms, implements, artefacts, and jewellery used by various tribal communities there, some of which are almost extinct, and revive some of the cultural traditions of these communities.
