It is perhaps the first ‘Students Biennale’ to be organised in the world.

Students, their teachers and parents of the Government SNDP Upper Primary School at Pattathanam in the city have joined hands to organise this unique three-day event which began on Saturday.

The event is a reflection of the creative talents in children and also a testimony that if encouraged in the right manner, students can be outstandingly creative. One of the main aims of the event is to make students aware of their surroundings and provide them the courage to make interventions wherever needed.

Lalita Kala Academy award winner Parvathy S. Nair is the curator of the event and this biennale is being supported by the Cochin Biennale Foundation. Apart from the creations by students of the schools, works by students from the Tripunithura RLV Fine Arts College and other schools are on show.

Some of the main attractive creations of the show are ‘Save my Dignity’ and ‘Your daughter’ by Anjana Shimoon and the ‘Victim’ by Subrama Dev. On Sunday evening Kalaripayattu and Mohiniyattam were staged. The valedictory function of the event will be inaugurated by the former Education Minister M.A. Baby.
