Free ride for communal force now: Sudheeran

‘Conversion moves of such forces may disrupt unity of the country’

December 23, 2014 10:48 am | Updated 10:48 am IST - KOLLAM:

The KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran has said under the shade of the Narendra Modi government, communal and fascist forces are making strong moves to keep the country communally polarised.

“This portends a very dangerous situation for the country, he said.

Mr. Sudheeran said this while addressing the district leaders of his party at the District Congress Committee (DCC) office here on Monday.

The conversion agenda of such forces under the leadership of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad was a move that would create anarchy and also destroy the unity of the country.

He called upon all secular and democratic forces to join hands and defeat the move. The Modi government had so far failed to provide any of its election time promises.

‘Evil days’

Though “good days for the country” was promised by the BJP during the election campaign phase, the agenda of the Modi government was looking like gifting “evil days” for the country.

Crude oil prices

People’s issues like controlling price rise were being totally ignored, he said.

Though the prices of crude oil made a big drop at the global level, there was no comparative drop in fuel prices in the country, he said.

Logic

Mr. Sudheeran also said that when Pandit Nehru was Prime Minister, the Opposition parties were given ample opportunities in the Hosue and were taken on not only the basis of strength but also on the basis of logic.

But the Modi government was abusing its brute strength in the Lok Sabha to silence the Opposition through undemocratic means. Mr. Sudheeran said that the Janapaksha Yathra he had led succeeded in taking the Congress party to new heights in the State.

The function was presided over by DCC president V. Sathyaseelan.

Party leaders Sooranad Rajashekaran, Rajmohan Unnithan, Bharateepuram Sasi, A. Shanavas Khan and Sooraj Ravi spoke.
