The Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, in association with the Magic Academy, will organise a four-day magic festival starting August 10. As part of the festival, being held in memory of magician K. Bhaghyanath, competitions at junior and senior levels would be conducted in Kannur, Thrissur, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram.
The date and venue of the competition are as follows: Kannur on August 10 in the Upper Primary School at Annoor, Thrissur on August 11 in Sangeetha Nataka Akademi and Kollam on August 12 in Sports Club at Kadappakada, The final would be held on August 13 at the Thirthapatha Mandapam auditorium at East Fort.
The best magician would be given a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, besides a certificate and a citation, said chairman of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Surya Krishnamurthy.
Amateur and professional drama artists can use the premises of Vyloppilly Samskrithi Bhavan at Thiruvananthapuram, Sangeetha Nataka Akademi at Thrissur and the Children’s park at Ernakulam for rehearsals. The centres would charge Rs 100 for renting out the premises for practice. The scheme would be inaugurated on Friday at Vyloppilly Samskrithi Bhavan here on Friday, he added.
