The body of former Minister and Congress leader N. Ramakrishnan, who died at a hospital in Mangalore on Monday, was received by District Congress Committee (DCC) office-bearers and other leaders of the party at Kalikkadavu here on Tuesday.
The body was brought here in the evening by a special vehicle.
Congress leaders who received the body of the late leader at the district border were Sunny Joseph, MLA, Khadi Board vice-chairman K.P. Nooruddin, A.P. Abdullakutty, MLA, A.D. Musthafa, Suma Balakrishnan, K.C. Kadambooran, M. Narayanankutty, K. Surendran, V.A. Narayanan and Sajiv Maroli, among others.
The body will be kept at the DCC office and the municipal office here on Wednesday morning for public viewing and will be cremated at Payyambalam around noon.
