Financial assistance and rice for endosulfan victims

The Kerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to provide ration rice at Rs. 2 a kg to the families of victims of spraying of endosulfan in Kasaragod district.

Briefing the media on the Cabinet decisions, Chief Minister V. S. Achuthanandan said that victims with mental or physical abnormalities would be given Rs. 400 a month in addition to pension for the disabled. Besides, the government had decided to provide Rs. 300 a month to bystanders of bed-ridden patients.

The Chief Minister noted that the families of bed-ridden victims would now be getting a total of Rs. 1000 a month (including pension of Rs. 300 a month).
