The father of a nine-year-old girl and two of his accomplices were arrested on Sunday for raping her.
The police said the father, Vijayan, Biju and Shine Raju, all from a locality near Kundara, had raped the child several times.
Another accused, Veerappan, was absconding.
Identified
Preliminary medical investigations showed rape, and the victim had identified the three accused after their arrest.
The police said the victim’s mother had died a few years ago, and the child and Vijayan had been living in a single-room shanty.
Revealed
A man noticed that Vijayan had been sexually abusing the girl and he told a woman about it.
She talked to the girl and confirmed it.
The woman then passed the information to the Kundara police.
The women’s cell circle inspector, Anitha Kumar, investigated the case.
The accused will be produced before a magistrate court in Kottarakara on Monday.
