Extremists trying to enter parties: Aryadan

April 30, 2012 11:50 am | Updated 11:50 am IST - KOZHIKODE:

Senior Congress leader and Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed said here on Sunday that there were deliberate attempts on the part of some extremist organisations in the State to safely redeploy their members in some of the political parties in the State.

Without mentioning the name of such parties, Mr. Aryadan said the adverse trend of such “infiltration” would pave way for the total corrosion of the political system in Kerala.

Mr. Aryadan also alleged that workers from the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the National Development Front (NDF) and the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were now trying to secure entry in other political parties. The Minister who termed SDPI, NDF and SIMI as “extremist organisations” said that the Congress party did not want their support to win elections.

SDPI statement

The SDPI has come out against the statement of Mr. Mohammed.

SDPI general secretary Majeed Faizi in a statement here said Mr. Mohammed's statement was a desperate and impossible attempt to salvage the Congress and the United Democratic Front that had lost its face by giving in completely to caste and religious forces.
