An exhibition of handicrafts and handloom products made by craftsmen and weavers from different parts of the country began at the Mahatma Mandir here on Tuesday.
Organised under the aegis of the Gujarat Emporium of Gujarat State Handloom, Handicrafts and Industrial Co-operative Federation Ltd., the exhibition was inaugurated by municipal chairperson Roshni Khalid.
According to emporium manager K. Arunachalam, the expo offers a wide range of unique products that suit the taste of Keralites. A government rebate of 20 per cent for handloom products and 10 per cent rebate for handicrafts products will be offered for purchases.
Apart from handicrafts and handloom products, the exhibition presents jewellery, dress materials, gift items, leather products, metal ornaments, toys, puja items and terracotta products. Artisans will participate in the expo to present their exclusive products, says a pressnote.
