Kerala Congress(M) leader and Government Chief Whip P.C. George has said that the State government should end its Maoist hunt. He told presspersons here on Wednesday that Maoists should be confronted ideologically. “Through talks, they should be weaned away from extremism. There is no need to spend crores of rupees for containing 10 or 20 Maoists. Maoists strive for welfare of tribal people and fight the blade mafia. Successive governments have done little for the welfare of the tribal people,” he said. — Special Correspondent
