‘Encroached’ land inspected

February 14, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:50 am IST - IDUKKI:

Officials of the Public Education Directorate visited the land owned by the directorate at Old Munnar on a complaint that it has been encroached.

The team was led by section superintendent R. Sudhakaran and taluk surveyor V.G. Beena.

As per the official document of the Revenue Department, the Public Education Directorate has 73 cents of land. Construction of a three-storey building began there in 2011 to house the Shikshak Sadan.

Report to be submitted

However, the work could not be completed. It has been now found that the land area was reduced to 45 cents. Mr. Sudhakaran said he would submit a report to the Public Education Director on the encroachments on the land.
