The Election Commission of India is appointing booth level officers as part of an ongoing effort to clean up the electoral rolls.
They will help voters to enroll, shift, make corrections and delete names from the electoral rolls. Employees of various government departments, public sector units, and local self governments are proposed to be drafted for the work on a honorarium of Rs. 3000 a year.
The employee will have to be the resident of the locality and voter of the booth to which he is to be assigned as booth level officer. Those working in essential services such as Health, Police, Water Supply, Electricity and Sales Tax or having any allegiance to political parties are not eligible.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Kerala has invited applications from employees for appointment as booth level officers. The applications are to be submitted online through the Web site of the CEO (www.ceo.kerala.gov.in).
