Elamaram Karim is CPI(M)’s candidate

Given the strength of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the Assembly, Mr. Karim is certain to get elected.

The State unit of the Communist Party of India (M) has decided to field Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) State secretary Elamaram Karim in the Rajya Sabha election on June 21.

Given the strength of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the Assembly, Mr. Karim is certain to get elected, along with Binoy Viswam of the Communist Party of India, whose candidature was announced the other day.

Was Industries Minister in VS Cabinet

Mr. Karim is currently a member of the CPI(M) Central committee. He had served as Industries Minister in the 2006-11 V.S. Achuthanandan Cabinet.
