Efforts to make Kerala the best-developed State: Adoor Prakash

The United Democratic Front government led by Oommen Chandy is trying to take Kerala ahead of all other States in the country in terms of development, Minister for Revenue Adoor Prakash has said.

The Minister was delivering the Republic Day message at the Republic Day celebrations held at the District Stadium here on Tuesday.

The government had already launched the Vizhinjam Port, Kochi Metro, Smart City, Kannur Airport, and so on as the State’s ambitious projects, he said.

Mr. Prakash said Kerala that stood first in terms of literacy and social reformation was, now, on a fast development track.

The government had launched several projects aimed at fully utilising the State’s immense youth power and achieving growth in science and technology, he said.

The Minister said Pathanamthitta too witnessed a big leap in terms of development. Sabarimala development had become a reality.

He said the district had got huge potential for eco-tourism and heritage tourism and the government had launched the ambitious Adavi tourism project in Konni with a view to exploit this tourism potential. The coracle ride launched in river Kallar at Adavi was the first of its kind in the State and the second one in the whole country, he said.

The Minister had hoisted the national flag and inspected the Republic-Day parade.
