M.S. Madhusoodanan, editor of Kerala Kaumudi daily, died here on Saturday. He was 70.

Mr. Madhusoodanan was under treatment at a private hospital over the past two weeks. Although discharged from hospital early last week, his condition deteriorated on Thursday and the end came early Saturday morning.

Second son of ‘Pathraadhipar’ K. Sukumaran and Madhavi Sukumaran, Mr. Madhusoodanan’s keen eye for new printing and transmission technologies had played a big part in turning Kerala Kaumudi into a modern newspaper in the 1970s and early 1980s.

He is survived by his two brothers Kerala Kaumudi editor-in-chief M.S. Mony and managing director M.S. Ravi, wife Geetha Madhusoodanan and two children. The body, kept in mortuary, will be cremated on Monday.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan , among others, condoled Mr. Madhusoodanan’s death.
