Revenue Minister E. Chandrasekharan has said efforts are under way to speed up land resurvey works in the State.

Having completed resurvey works in 881 villages, the government is planning to speed up works in the remaining 783 villages, the Minister said.

He was inaugurating the District Digitisation Centre of the Survey and Land Records section of the Revenue Department here on Saturday.

Dispute resolution

“Completion of the resurvey, which began in 1966, does not mean that issues related to land have been resolved forever. But by infusing updated technologies, we can find hassle-free resolution to many complex issues,” Mr. Chandrasekharan said.

The Minister also launched the e-rekha web portal, an Internet-based survey records data directory, and Map My Home mobile application, which helps in tracing location of revenue offices and services.

Visiting the portal erekha.kerala.gov.in will help users avail themselves of information pertaining to actual land sketch data of the Survey and Land Records Department. The site also has provision for obtaining digitally signed survey data online, the Minister said.

The function, held at the Collectorate mini-conference hall, was presided over by N.A. Nellikkunnu, MLA.
