DD news to have new look and feel from Monday

The Dooradarshan Kendra, Thiruvananthapuram, will be shifting to a new format for its news bulletins from Monday. It will also start two additional daily bulletins.

A press release from the Dooradarshan News here said it would be the first regional news unit of Dooradarshan to introduce “new look and feel” for its news broadcasts using an advanced production system. The system has facilities for speedy transfer of files, visual editing and creation of graphics. Dooradarshan was till now using buses and cars for transport of videos and typewriter and pen for preparing the news reports.

The total number of daily news bulletins by the Kendra will go up to six with introduction of bulletins at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Besides, “headlines of the hour” will be broadcast at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 12 noon. News analysis will be broadcast every day from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. except on Saturdays and Sundays.

The telecast of an “entertainment news” will start from October.
