Daivasoothram, a 30-minute video film produced by the National Service Scheme (NSS) students of CKNSGHSS at Peelikkode in Kasaragod district, won the Chief Minister's Trophy and Rs.1 lakh cash award for the best film at the fourth edition of the Kerala State Children's Educational Film Festival-2011, which concluded here on Thursday.

0 T.K. Nibisha won the best director award for the film and the best actor award was won by its lead actor Dinkar Lal.

Daivasoothram, which stole the attention of viewers by visualising the impact of destroying hillocks, also came first in the senior secondary school level with four awards in scripting, direction, camera, and set designing. When P.V. Nayana and Upesh Cheemeni won individual awards for the best scripting and camera work, the NSS volunteers of the school secured the best set designer award.

Paranjilla Kettuvo, a 30-minute film produced by the Karayad ALP School, bagged the Education Minister's Trophy and Rs.50,000 cash award for the best movie produced for the children. The film, directed by Maneesh Yatra, was also adjudged the best film in the primary school category.

Leedha of Kaniyapuram block resource centre (BRC) won the best actress award in the festival throughTen, Nine, Eight. The film was directed by R.V. Rahul Raj.

In the primary school category,Anuvinte Vichinthanangal, a film produced by the students of GUPS, Thalavoor in Kollam district came first. It also won four individual awards in the category for the best scripting, editing, background music, and dubbing.

Bhoothappattinu Shesham, produced by the movie club of the AKMHS, Malappuram, came first in the secondary school category.

The film directed by Parvathi P. Raveendran also won four individual awards in camera, direction, editing and dubbing.

In the BRC category,Ottamani Chilanga,produced by BRC, Palode, in Thiruvananthapuram district won the first prize by bagging four individual awards. The film, which was directed by Ahlada Harilal and D.P. Roopa Nair, won awards in direction, camera work, dubbing, and set designing.
