Crime Branch to investigate death of murder accused

The investigation of the custodial death of Sampath, the first accused in the sensational Puthur Sheela murder case, was handed over to the Crime Branch on Tuesday.

District Superintendent of Police Vijay Sakhare heading the investigation of the murder of Sheela said that he had received the orders to hand over the case.The case will be handed over to the Crime Branch on Wednesday after completing the formalities, he said.

Meanwhile the post-mortem of Sampath was done in Thrissur Medical College and the body handed over to his relatives in Palakkad.

But the police have not revealed the findings in the post-mortem report. They maintained that they have not received it yet.
